Right now, Isaac calls Gid Geeyun.
Ike also uses the phrases Where we are we? and Not quite yet as in the other day when he left the bathroom, I asked him if he'd wiped, he said, "Not quite yet," and ran back into the bathroom.
Phineas is still contained in his bed in the mornings and I often lay in bed for a while, pregnant sick, and listen to him call before finally having mercy on him and getting him up. What I love is that he'll call, "Mommeee! Mommeee! Mommeeeeeeeeeeee!" A pause then, "Arloooooo! Arloooooo!"
Last night I admonished the boys to stay very quiet, stay in bed and go right to sleep. I then commenced to reading in the tub. Sometime later Ike came in and said, "So, Gid has to go pee-pee." Me: "Are you planning on doing it for him?" "No. He needs to go pee-pee. So can he do it?" "Um, quietly and then right back to bed." "Okay." He ran back out of the bathroom and I soon heard Gid whisper, "Well? What did she say?"
It's also incredibly cute to me that Isaac precedes many of his statements these days with "So."
Driving through a heavy snow the other day (yes, I allowed my craving for an Arby's roast beef to endanger my life and the lives of my children) Gid says, "So, Mom, how's this snow storm treatin' ya?" I reply, "Oh, not too badly, I just have to drive very slowly." "Well, Mom, it's kinda freakin' me out back here."
oh my goodness, have I said how much I miss you guys already?
Posted by: katiek at January 21, 2008 06:34 PMI miss my Perkins! Thanks for blogging so I can feel close to you guys. I think Ike is gonna be your 'Lynn' maybe...It's gonna be fun to see how Phin develops too ~ and this new little darling that we haven't gotten the chance to know yet but love already!
I'm glad for but sorta envious of funny-Aunt-Willa and Sam getting to come. But I know she'll take lots of great pictures for us to enjoy when she returns. And Sam is pumped! You guys are gonna have SO much fun together ~ it's the next best thing to being there myself knowing you guys get to be together. Do you realize Dad and I will see AMIE before we get to see you again!?! WoW!
Posted by: Mom at January 22, 2008 08:36 AMLynn, You are the best! and your kids are the best! I love how you interact with your children. Sometimes reading your blog is like reading a good "how to parent small children" book. Thank you for your example.

Posted by: jen k at January 22, 2008 08:44 AMLynn you seriously crack me up. I love reading your conversations because I can just HEAR your voice and inflections as you talk to those boys. I miss you!
Posted by: michellew at January 22, 2008 03:12 PMHee hee hee! Chuckle, chuckle...actually...make that a full on snort! Really cute! Thanks for entertaining me (and thanks to the boys).
Posted by: kristinjones at January 22, 2008 04:02 PMHilarious! What sweet boys you have:)
Posted by: Gypsy at January 23, 2008 10:00 AMEthan will still send Sam down to ask if E can get a drink or snack or something. What is it with these manipulative oldest kids and the siblings who do their bidding? :)
So does Arlo ever try to get Phin up for you? Change diapers? That might convince me to like dogs.
