A New Eating Record

Gideon is a painfully slow eater. We're talking about the boy who at a year old would still be chewing green beans literally two to three hours after a meal. He's either moving his mouth constantly with a story, playing with/trying to play with a car, planning the moves for playing with the car when he's done eating, or trying to control someone somewhere. He's a first child to a tee. Lately we're learning about graphing and today I decided we'd graph everything we ate. Oh. My. Word. I was worried it would add an extra hour and a half to his already stretched eating schedule, but I was wrong! This has given the boy focus! He counts how much of one type of food there is & concentrates on eating it all so he can color in the blocks on his graph. Then he does the same with each and every item on his plate! Meal time has never been easier with him! He did end up with a total of only nine snap peas after lunch, though. So he had to request one more to have a nice even ten. First child control freak.

I love that boy! He's so unique ~ yet reminds me in so many ways of his unique mom!

Hi Lynn,
I don't have your e-mail address but I need your help! I need to know how I can prevent recurrent UTIs (apparently I can't rid the germs when preggo and it can cause big problems)naturally and safely in pregnancy. I've had 3 now. And the Macrobid they give me 1) doesn't work too well on me, and 2) I've had a really bad reaction to it each time I've taken it. This time I just stopped it with out talking to MD, last time I was in bed and couldn't move for 3 days my body ached so bad. This time I decided it wasn't worth it and stopped the second I noticed I was having the same reaction. So, I don't want the little buggers in living in my bladder, but I don't want to be taking antibiotics propholatically (sp?) throughout pregnancy either. I've always been asymptomatic too, with low, but still significant, bacteria counts. First two were E.Coli, and this one is Enterococcus. Oh, and I had had an UTI (E. Coli) before I had Maddie early so it can cause PTL. I now suspect that that's why my water broke (infection), as I was treated with Macrobid, which didn't do a thing last time I took it for E. Coli. They didn't do a follow-up culture. So...any ideas? I'm so scared to take any herbs because I just miscarried my last little bean. Thanks and sorry to blog world for this long and irrelevant post.
