Another Perkins?

Could it be? I got you excited, didn't I?

Well, it looks hopeful for my goldendoodle in the near future. Alright, it may actually be a labradoodle, but they're not sure about the father (these cases are so sad, aren't they?) and seeing as how it's in question I'd like to think of them as goldendoodles. We've been thinking about, looking into, deciding about getting a dog for almost a year now. I talked to a woman on the phone today about her pups and it looks, again, hopeful. She screens pet adoptions, doesn't give on a first come, first serve basis. I like that. So if she finds our family fully acceptable we may be showing off pictures of the new Perkins before long! I'm breathless.

These are the actual puppies themselves. Ooh, dontcha just wanna eat 'em up?

Their hair reminds me of Phin. The females are all spoken for already. They're four hours away so there's talk of perhaps driving out to make contact and ensure no adverse allergic reactions on my part. I'll let you know as I do. Never fear.

Your talk of adoption (child) did flash into my head with that title, your rascally girl~ The puppies DO look adorable. We have a training place here (over by the feed & seed) that teaches pet owners (parents...)how to be pet trian. Trains people AND pets, maybe while you're here you can stop by and see it. Just as with children those early times of bonding and training can be life altering times. BTW~ I know you don't watch much news but there has been a BAD time with dog food that is tainted and killing dogs and cats so be VERY careful what you feed him.

Have you looked into Portuguese Water Dogs? Really cool dogs, a great size, very soft, very pretty (when not cut in wierd ways for showing, and pictures don't do justice), and they are HYPOALLERGENIC. Please at least google them for me, Lynn. We have one down the street, and it almost made us get one instead of our wonderful Rufus (who is a Bernese Mountain Dog -- definitely not a hypoallergenic dog, though). I just had my heart set on a Bernese Mountain Dog.

Is that David Graham? You never call...you never write...you just lurk around these blogs. How's life as a prof? How is the house? We miss ya!

cutie cutie!!! I'll admire your dog from afar, I am not planning to own a dog anytime soon. My mom's cat has spurned me away from any animal at this point. Evil creature....

Dave: If allergies weren't an issue I would have leaned very hard toward a Bernese Mtn Dog. I was so happy when I saw your Christmas pic! The PWD looks pretty sweet. I'm very sad about the way they cut their coat for showing, though. What's up with a hairy body and a bare bum? Three things I would want to look into: 1)They seem more renowned than most pups for chewing & it's recommended to keep chew temptations completely out of their way (w/my 3 boys that's impossible) 2)It's stressed to be very consistent w/training or they'll take advantage (while this is true to some extent w/all dogs, a breed known for this would probably be troublesome if I got distracted with, say, a one-year old) 3)There don't seem to be many purebred PWD up for adoption and I'm an adoption girl - I don't want to buy from a breeder when there are so many homeless pups out there needing homes. # 3 would be my biggest concern.

You know I don't like dogs, but I find it difficult to be opposed to anything whose name ends in "doodle".
