Strep

A week ago I took a strep culture after 14 days on antibiotics. Tuesday the results came back negative. Wednesday the sore tickling began in my throat again. Today it full fledged hurts and I've got the first white spot. Again. Andy's leaving for Atlanta on Sunday. He'll be gone a week. My spirits are okay but I'm wondering what we'll do. Anybody have first hand info on the usefulness of our tonsils? My aunt sent a good book that says God didn't give us any extraneous organs. This makes sense to me. I'm sure Joel Kn has an interesting opinion. Pray for me, ay?

Now I'm sorry I didn't go ahead and fly out! Sorry! I'm praying for the Lord's provision for you. Wish I was there. Last night we were looking at Dad's pictures of his and E's picture and he was saying he was missing your boys. We're praying for you.

Oh, lynnie, I'm so sorry! Are you using the same antibiotic everytime? I'm going to email you something I read recently that might be insightful. You obviously just aren't getting rid of the strep. I don't think you are getting it repeatedly, strep is just easily repressed and can be lurking. I'll see what info I can scrounge up for you.

Yuck...so sorry! My nurse advice would be to make sure you're not taking your antibiotic with anything that might inhibit it's absorption. Lots of them don't work as well when you take them with orange juice, or acidic things, or some with dairy products. You'd think they'd tell you that but...so, let me know what they've had you on and I'll look it up in my drug guide.
Blessings!

Yikes! I'm so sorry! I will be praying for you. Praying for healing, peace, and rest (which it sounds like will be a hard thing to come by). It is so hard on everyone when mommy is sick!

Hey Lynn, I just got caught up here - haven't been reading since I had family in town. I'm thinking of you and praying for you. I know how it feels to be lonely and lose my network of help and support but I can't imagine how hard it must be to battle sickness on top of it. I'll be praying for God to refresh you, heal you and lift you up. It's so hard when your best friend has to leave too. When we came over here we had no idea that Erik was going to have to travel so much. Sometime in the near future he'll have to leave for two weeks and then again for a month. Anyway, I am grateful for the net and being connected with awesome people like you guys. You inspire me with your courage and passion. I hope you have a lovely Monday with your boys!
